Sheila McFall and Sarin Poco's "Legends of Sleepy Hollow" themed wedding at the Chism House in Reno, Nevada, was complete with costumes, a haunted castle wedding cake and, of course, a live headless horseman.
The architectural design of the building is an eclectic blend of the Late Adam style with Gothic Revival elements - a simply perfect venue for this wedding. Fall leaves, a quiet fog machine and carved jack-o-lanterns (including a puking pumpkin) gave ambience to the exterior of the home.
Inside, guests gathered around a blazing fire in a room with many candles and a 6' flying ghoul overlooking the ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy blood punch from the silver fountain and scrapbook a page in the guestbook using colored pens, stickers and other embellishments. The Bride wore a blue and black custom made gown designed from the 1999 movie starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. The Groom also wore custom attire - a long, high neck jacket with ruff and hair-do to match. Guests attending the wedding came dressed as vampires, angels, demons, sleepy heads, punk rockers, and two young men even came dressed in orange and teal, 1970's style tuxedos complete with top hats and canes! A fabulous buffet meal was followed by a champagne toast (served in skeletal hand flutes), dancing and general enjoyment for all.
The bride and groom played an equally active roll in planning this wedding.
